Please read ‘General information about the Scaffolding NVQ’ below which applies to the Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ. 

Click on the down arrow icon next to the NVQ level you are interested in, for more information on the range of topics and scaffolding structures that the NVQ covers.

  • NVQ Level 2 is for Trainee Scaffolders before you attend your CISRS 1-day Skills Test and Assessment.  
  • NVQ Level 3 is for Scaffolders wanting to progress on to hold the CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card.  You must do your NVQ Level 3 before you take the CISRS 2-day Skills Test and Assessment.
  • Our friendly Assessors, who are experienced scaffolders, will support you through the qualification.  
  • You will be given an Information Pack about the NVQ process and the service you can expect from Richmond Bright.
  • We will register you as a learner with CSkills NOCN.
  • You will be provided with login details for your e-portfolio.  We will provide tuition on how to use the system.
  • The e-portfolio is where you upload all of the supporting evidence that you need to complete the NVQ.   This will include completing a question pack, uploading risk assessments, method statements etc.  We will provide advice, information and guidance on what you need to do.
  • We will arrange with you a time to come out to a live site and observe you working.
  • We don’t anticipate it to take longer than 6 months to complete your NVQ. If you need to complete the NVQ quicker than this, please discuss this with your Assessor.

The NVQ Diploma in Accessing Operations and Rigging (Scaffolding) Level 2 consists of the following 8 mandatory units:

  • QCF641 Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • QCF642 Conforming to Productive Workplace Practices in the Workplace
  • QCF643 Moving and Handling and Storing Resources in the Workplace
  • QCF247 Erecting and Dismantling Independent and Birdcage Scaffolds in the Workplace
  • QCF248 Erecting and Dismantling Mobile and Static Scaffold Towers in the Workplace
  • QCF 249 Erecting and Dismantling Cantilever Scaffolds in the Workplace
  • QCF251 Erecting and Dismantling Pavement or Roof Scaffolds in the Workplace
  • QCF252 Utilising Provision of Fall Protection Systems and/or Equipment in the Workplace

The NVQ Diploma in Accessing Operations and Rigging (Scaffolding) Level 3 consists of the following 6 mandatory units:

  • QCF641 Conform to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
  • QCF209 Conforming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work area in the Workplace
  • QCF210 Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
  • QCF211 Confirming the Occupation Method of Work in the Workplace
  • QCF252 Utilising Provision of Fall Protection Systems in the Workplace
  • QCF405 Erecting Specialised, Designed Scaffolds and Rigging in the Workplace

 

You must also choose 2 of the following optional units:

  • QCF406 Erecting and Dismantling Overhead Scaffolds in the Workplace
  • QCF407 Erecting and Dismantling Falsework Scaffolds in the Workplace
  • QCF408 Erecting and Dismantling Shoring Scaffolds in the Workplace
  • QCF411 Erecting and Dismantling Temporary Roof Scaffolds in the Working
  • Level 2 Accessing Operations & Rigging – £650 plus VAT (if VAT is 20%, this totals £780)
  • Level 3 Accessing Operations & Rigging – £650 plus VAT (if VAT is 20%, this totals £780)

Please note:

  • Once we have registered you for the qualification with NOCN, no refund can be given.
  • If you cancel a pre-arranged site observation visit within 48 hours of it being due to take place, or you are not on the site when the Assessor arrives, then you may be charged for a re-arranged visit.  Please discuss this with your Assessor.
  • If you require an extension of time to complete your NVQ, a small charge may be levied.  Please keep your Assessor informed of any delays or issues in your ability to complete your NVQ as soon as you can.
